Rhythms of the Moon
A gentle, creative circle guided by the phases of the moon. Explore intuition, reflection, and self-expression through artmaking in a supportive, softly held online space.
Rhythms of the Moon is a gentle, creative group grounded in the natural cycles of the lunar month. Guided by the phases of the moon and their corresponding zodiac archetypes, this group offers a supportive space to slow down, tune inward, and explore your inner landscape through intuitive artmaking.
Each week, we gather with a different phase of the moon as our guide, not to predict or fix, but to notice, reflect, and create meaning. Artmaking becomes a way to listen more closely to yourself, to follow curiosity, and to stay present with what’s unfolding.
This is a space for softness, imagination, and connection, where creative expression is welcomed just as it is.
About the Group
Beginning on the New Moon in Taurus, we’ll move intentionally through each quarter of the moon cycle, allowing the rhythm of the month to shape our creative exploration. Each session offers a container for reflection, expression, and community connection, supported by gentle teachings and intuitive art prompts.
No art experience or astrology knowledge is required. Prompts are invitations, not requirements, and participants are always encouraged to follow their own intuitive process. You’re welcome to engage with the materials in whatever way feels safe and meaningful for you, adjusting, adapting, or setting prompts aside as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where does the group take place?
Rhythms of the Moon is hosted online via Zoom. Please note that the facilitator is based in Vancouver, BC (Pacific Time), so be sure to check the time difference for your location.
Do I need to bring anything?
If you’d like to participate in the artmaking portion, we recommend having a few simple materials nearby. These might include coloured pencils, felt markers, crayons, watercolours, collage materials, or a notebook or sketchbook. That said, art supplies are optional. You’re welcome to engage through reflection, journaling, or quiet presence if that feels more supportive for you.
What if I’m running late?
We kindly ask that you arrive on time to honour the shared space and group rhythm. The session begins with a gentle arrival and candle-lighting ritual, which helps establish a focused and contained atmosphere. For this reason, participants may not be admitted during the opening grounding portion of the session.
What if I can’t stay for the entire session?
You’re welcome to step away early if needed. We understand that life happens, and you’re invited to participate for as much of the session as you’re able. If you know in advance that you’ll need to leave early, you’re welcome to let the facilitator know.
Do I need to know anything about astrology or the moon phases?
No prior knowledge of astrology or lunar cycles is required. Each session includes a brief, accessible introduction to the moon phase and its themes. Everything offered is invitational and designed to be approachable, whether this is brand new to you or already familiar.
Is this a therapy group?
This is not a therapy group. While the group is facilitated by a counselling art therapist intern and held within a supportive, reflective container, Rhythms of the Moon is a creative and exploratory space rather than a therapeutic intervention or counselling session.
What kind of art materials should I use?
There’s no “right” way to participate. You might choose to work with drawing or painting materials, collage, mixed media, or simple mark-making. Some participants may prefer journaling or reflective writing. You’re invited to follow what feels intuitive, accessible, and supportive for you.
Do I need to have my camera on?
To support a sense of safety and connection, we ask that cameras be turned on during introductions and closing reflections. During the artmaking portion, you’re welcome to adjust your camera as needed, some participants enjoy showing their artwork, while others prefer to keep the focus on themselves or their space. Choice and comfort are always encouraged.
