Creative Reflections Studio
A weekly virtual art therapy studio to unwind, reflect, and explore creativity in a calm, supportive space.
Hosted by Miranda & Jillian.
Creative Reflections Studio is a weekly virtual art-based gathering hosted by counselling art therapy interns Miranda and Jillian. Each Wednesday evening, we come together in a calm, low-pressure space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself through creative expression.
Their facilitation style centres emotional safety, gentleness, and a warm, attuned presence, creating a soft container where you are welcome exactly as you are.
There is no expectation to “create something meaningful.” Your presence is enough.
Each gathering opens with a simple, theme-guided art invitation, followed by spacious time to create. You’re welcome to follow the prompt, work on your own project, or simply be with your materials in your own way. We then come together for optional reflection and gentle group sharing.
No art experience is required. This studio is meant to be a soft landing place, a calm, companioned space for your inner world.
While therapeutic in nature, Creative Reflections Studio is not a therapy group. It is a free, non-clinical community offering. No clinical services are provided, and no clinical records are created. This group is not eligible for insurance reimbursement. It is a supportive creative gathering focused on reflection, connection, and gentle meaning-making.
March Theme – Early Growth & Renewal
March carries the first subtle signs of renewal, a quiet but undeniable shift toward light, warmth, and gentle movement. Where February invited curiosity beneath the surface, March invites us to notice what is beginning to emerge. This month’s gatherings explore early growth, the small stirrings of energy, intention, and becoming that are just beginning to rise. Through art-making, we’ll tend to what feels new or quietly alive, giving form to the subtle movements of growth within us. Like the earth softening after winter, we practice nurturing what is budding, without rushing it, trusting that steady care allows authentic renewal to take root.
March 4 – Softening the Soil
Growth does not begin with effort. It begins with conditions. In this gathering, we turn toward the inner environment that makes growth possible. What helps you feel grounded, nourished, and supported enough to allow something new to emerge? If your inner world were soil, what condition would it be in right now? Through shapes, colours, and lines, we explore what it means to soften, gently loosening winter stillness so something new can root. You may notice places that resist softening, as well as areas that feel ready to yield.
Intention: To gently create inner conditions that support early growth.
March 11 – Early Budding
Growth rarely arrives fully formed. It begins as the smallest bud, often barely visible. This week invites you to notice what is stirring quietly within you. Not what is loud or certain, but what feels tentative, new, or tender. What part of you is just beginning to take shape? What is asking for gentle attention? Through art-making, we honour subtle beginnings, ideas, desires, energy shifts, or hopes, without demanding clarity or commitment.
Intention: To notice and validate subtle beginnings, trusting that even the smallest bud carries potential.
March 18 – Tending What Is Growing
New growth requires care, not control, but stewardship. This gathering invites reflection on what your emerging parts need in order to continue unfolding. What nourishes you? What offers space, structure, or protection? What helps growth feel supported rather than pressured? Through imagery, layers, and symbolic exploration, we consider how to care for what is becoming, allowing boundaries and protection to feel supportive rather than restrictive.
Intention: To explore care, boundaries, and protection as support for emerging growth.
March 25 – Reaching Toward Light
As growth stabilizes, it naturally begins to orient toward light. In our final gathering of March, we gently explore direction and possibility. What feels newly available? What feels possible now that didn’t before? Where does your growth naturally lean? Through colour, movement, and layered imagery, we allow a sense of quiet expansion to emerge, honouring that growth unfolds at its own pace while still reaching toward what feels life-giving.
Intention: To support gentle expansion and orientation toward possibility.
April Theme – Becoming Visible
April carries the energy of growth becoming more visible. What began as subtle and tender in March starts to take clearer form, reaching upward, spreading outward, and gently revealing itself. This month invites us to explore what it means to be with our own unfolding as it becomes more seen. Through art-making, we’ll tend to the vulnerability and courage of emergence, allowing ourselves to take up space, respond to changing conditions, and remain rooted as we expand. Like spring growth that cannot help but reveal itself, we practice meeting our becoming with curiosity, care, and embodied presence.
April 1 – Breaking Through
Growth is no longer only beneath the surface. This week invites you to notice what is beginning to emerge into visibility, in awareness, expression, or small movements outward. This may feel exciting, vulnerable, or uncertain. Through art-making, we’ll gently explore what is asking to be seen, without pressure for it to be fully formed or understood.
What part of you is beginning to come into view?
What is asking for expression, even if it still feels tender or unfinished?
Intention: To honour the courage of emergence.
April 8 – Taking Up Space
As growth continues, it naturally begins to expand. This gathering invites reflection on what it feels like to take up space, physically, emotionally, creatively, and relationally. Expansion can bring both openness and tension: a desire to grow alongside a fear of being too much, too visible, or too exposed. Through art-making, we’ll gently explore what it means to allow more room for yourself, noticing what supports or resists that expansion.
Where do you feel ready to expand?
What happens when you allow yourself to take up space?
Intention: To explore expansion with permission and self-trust.
April 15 – Responding to the Weather
Growth does not happen in perfect conditions. This week invites you to reflect on how you respond to changing inner and outer environments, emotional shifts, sensitivity, uncertainty, or external pressures. Through art-making, we’ll explore resilience as adaptability rather than hardening. What helps you stay connected to yourself while adjusting to what is happening around you?
What supports you when conditions shift?
How do you remain rooted while adapting?
Intention: To explore adaptability and gentle resilience.
April 22 – Rooted and Reaching
Growth involves both grounding and expansion. This gathering invites you to explore the relationship between staying rooted in what supports and stabilizes you, while also reaching toward what feels possible or calling you forward. Through image-making, we’ll reflect on the practices, relationships, and inner resources that help you feel anchored, alongside the directions or possibilities that invite you to extend outward.
What keeps you grounded as you grow?
What are you reaching toward?
Intention: To explore balance between grounding and expansion.
April 29 – In Full Aliveness
By the end of April, growth has presence. This week invites you to notice what feels alive, vibrant, and present within you now, not as something achieved, but as something already here. Through art-making, we’ll gently explore what wants to be expressed, witnessed, or simply experienced as it is.
What feels most alive in you right now?
What wants space, expression, or acknowledgement?
Intention: To connect with and honour your aliveness as it is.
